Ploom
Building a challenger
Retail Design & Brand Activation
Brief
As the heated tobacco category accelerated, Ploom needed to establish a distinctive, premium retail presence within a highly competitive and regulation-heavy landscape. The ambition was not only to stand out, but to elevate perceptions of the category itself – positioning the brand as a leader in innovation, experience, and design.

Big Idea
We redefined the retail design language by moving away from conventional category codes in favour of a bold, contemporary aesthetic. Sleek materials, precise detailing, and a restrained palette created a sense of modern luxury, while a modular system introduced flexibility across diverse markets and formats.
This approach allowed the brand to maintain a consistent, elevated identity while adapting seamlessly to different spatial and cultural contexts.
Result
The retail environments are confident, immersive, and intuitively navigable – balancing premium storytelling with functional clarity. Hero product moments, interactive touchpoints, and layered brand cues invite exploration and engagement.
Together, these elements elevate brand perception and position Ploom as a credible, design-led alternative within the heated tobacco category.
Since 2018, we have acted as a key creative, design and production partner, supporting Ploom’s retail expansion across EMEA and APAC, strengthening its premium positioning and enabling sustained growth within Global Travel Retail.
